Himalayan Birch
Betula utilis Jacquemontii, more commonly known as the Himalayan Birch, is a native of the western Himalayas.
It is a medium sized tree, growing to about 18 metres, and has ascending branches. Its oval shaped leaves are dark green, turning a golden yellow during autumn.
Young trees have a rich brown bark, which changes to, and remains, a gleaming white bark as the tree matures.
- Low maintenance and easy to grow
- Requires very little pruning
- Ideal for all gardens and soil types
- Plant in moist soil, with sufficient drainage
